After the inaugural screening of Mad Max in Cannes, and before its mainstream release, the Mad Max vehicles made an appearance at the steps of the Sydney Opera House to coincide with its Aussie release. The vehicles were somewhat out of their element, and far better suited to the post apocalyptic world for which they were built.
Shooting the movie was carnage for the vehicle fleet, with 61 destroyed as scheduled during stunts. The rest will have another life if the Hollywood studio Warner Bros wants a sequel that creators have ready to shoot.
